Maryland Panel for America’s Tapestry
The Constellation and Hagerstown Chapters have agreed to work on stitching the Maryland panel that is part of the America’s Tapestry project (www.americastapestry.com). The panel is
approximately 4 feet by 3 feet, line-drawn on 32- count linen, and all floss and specialty threads
are supplied. The panel features a vignette of the Maryland 400, including Thomas Carney, William
Alexander, and Mordecai Gist. The Old Stone House of Brooklyn is visible on the far right. The iconic rotunda of the Maryland State House, Wye Oak, and the Peggy Stewart are all featured in the panel. The upper right motif showcases Molly Ridout observing Washington’s resignation speech in the state capitol.
The panel is being worked on at the Maryland Center for History and Culture, located at 610 Park Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201.
